WHO? The volunteer leader-participant is Lisa Galloway. She will organize each session and help those who need it. Lisa is an amateur artist and teacher at Lanai High School. The participants must be 14 years or older. Class size will be no more than ten people!
WHEN? 3pm every Sunday in June (the 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th)
WHERE? We’ll start each session at the high school art room, in T-building. Park at the community lot near the pool, walk past the gym, and turn right – the door near the picnic tables will be open!
WHAT? Based on participants’ wishes, and weather, we’ll carpool to a different location each time we meet – desert, forest, beach and/or the built environment. We’ll take photos, draw “en plein air” (outside) and explore the drawing media and subjects we find there, plus use other supplies provided to participants as needed.
HOW? Lisa will guide activities that reduce the stress and challenges of drawing, and increase your fun and confidence!
COST? This is a non-profit event, so the fees below will provide participants with the drawing materials they need, and a chance to matt, mount and/or frame their best artworks for exhibit at the LAC gallery. Participants must have their own camera, and a sketchbook is recommended.
$15 per session for LAC members ($60 total for all 4 sessions)
$25 per session for non-LAC members ($100 total for all sessions)
Yes, participants may sign up for fewer than all 4 sessions, but must pay in advance for each session. Full payment is due no later than June 4th.
